The Venue

Established in 1978, Brock House Restaurant is an adored and established wedding venue boasting spectacular views of Vancouver’s mountain ranges and ocean. Professional wedding photographers and couples from all over the world have enjoyed the tranquility of the surrounding gardens and the romantic atmosphere Brock House provides.

The Couple

Mathew and Claire met for the first time in English Bay. The mountains and the ocean provided the backdrop for their meeting and so it is fitting they were married on the beach. They found a way to be completely content in the here and now, to experience joy in their deep connection with each other, and to be grateful being with the ones they love most on their wedding day. This was a beautiful wedding and Mathew and Claire are such a courageous and inspiring couple. It was my absolute pleasure to contribute to their day.

The Day

The wildfires were raging in the northern U.S. states casting a melancholic reddish hue over the day. The light was a beautiful gift; a silver lining. Vows were spoken through tears, stories of old times and laughs were shared, and games were played. Mathew & Claire are sure to remember the serene beauty and delight of the 12th of September 2020 for the rest of their lives together.
